Eric
Eric has managed to combine his passion for cycling and addiction to staring at computer screens by vigorously embracing indoor virtual cycle racing. Against all expectations, he is quite good at it. His teenage kids convinced him he should livestream his stationary cycle races, filmed in the cluttered spare room where he keeps his cycle simulator. It has proven to be very popular, particularly among the growing niche of dull sports aficionados. He is so buoyed by his success that he has started a podcast, called Wheels on Fire, that now boasts subscribers in double figures. Eric finds the irony of his cycle simulator, not actually having wheels of any description, so funny that he’s wondering if he can make the transition to virtual stand-up cycle comedy.
Eric is also an articulated ceramic wall puppet and he is modelled by hand in stoneware clay, twice fired, decorated with ceramic glazes, and finished with a cold glaze. He is approximately 32 cm long, and can hang on the wall by nail, hook or tack.
