Wayne
Wayne is the only person he knows who wears a night cap. His earlier ones, hand knitted by his mum, caused some mirth and derision among flatmates and ex partners, but his latest iteration, styled on the cap worn by traditional Spanish Royal Guardsmen, is so far from looking like a night cap that he wears it into town regularly. It also has Bluetooth connectivity to his hair-health app, and a USB-powered heater for extra cold nights. He’s not convinced about the latter. Not only does it tend to create static electricity, which plays havoc with his hair in the morning, but he suspects it makes his head attractive to other organisms – ants, spiders and small mice… so far.
Wayne is also an articulated ceramic wall puppet and he is modelled by hand in stoneware clay, twice fired, decorated with ceramic glazes, and finished with a cold glaze. He is approximately 32 cm long, and can hang on the wall by nail, hook or tack.
