Fleur
Fleur knows she’s obsessive, and her current fixation with chamomile extends far beyond the silk chamomile flowers in her hair scented with chamomile-oil hair conditioner, chamomile body wash and even the chamomile tea bags she inserts in her underarms as a deodorant (with strings removed, if she remembers). She has developed chamomile felted inserts for her shoes and has a range of chamomile-shaped stencils she’s made and is using to repaint the internal walls of her house. Her friends are generally approving of this, as it makes both her and visiting her house a rather peaceful experience, especially considering some of her previous obsessions. Still, they are all a little wary when offered one of the countless cups of chamomile tea to just surreptitiously check the pot to see if it’s made from fresh leaf or tea bag.
Fleur is also an articulated ceramic wall puppet and is modelled by hand in stoneware clay, twice fired, decorated with ceramic glazes, and finished with a cold glaze. She is approximately 32 cm long, and can hang on the wall by nail, hook or tack - see last photo. Another pic shows how natural it is for these puppets to hang out together ... they are social creatures, and she is pictured here with her old friend Karl, who has, in Fleur's view, an unhealthy obsession with breakdancing.
